September 9, 2015 JFK-London, arriving September 10, driving to Birmingham, UK. September 11 meeting Dr. Hamlin in Cosford.

Well, I finally am getting around to starting my blog! We started traveling at JFK in New York City, and flew to London, baby! We had plenty of room on the plane, so we could stretch out and sleep. I had a middle row, and had three seats to sleep on, which really helped with jet lag. We immediately drove to Birmingham, and to a lovely flat in Moseley, a suburb. Here are pictures of the flat from the outside!

That evening we walked to a nice pub down the street. Chris had a hot dog with (too) hot mustard, I had bangers and mash, and Charles had a beer and tried to relax!

The next day was a bit rough, as we had to drive to Cosford to meet my mentor on my research project, Dr. Bob Hamlin, Professor Emeritus of the Business School at the University of Wolverhampton. It was just as challenging as the previous day had been, with one roundabout after another, traveling at great speeds on the wrong side of the road, Chris struggling to navigate (he wanted to sit in the front because he was the tallest) despite not knowing how to drive nor knowing his right from his left, narrow roads, pedestrians everywhere, bicyclists, crazy drivers (that included us)....I don't know how Charles managed. I was in the backseat struggling to be quiet and not say anything because my input would only confuse the driver and anger the navigator who was having difficulties and wanted no advice (interference) from mom. Luckily the ride to Cosford was easier as I was the navigator, and I do know my left from my right most of the time! Charles enjoyed the RAF museum and I enjoyed a few hours with Dr. Hamlin.
That evening we had a lovely dinner in Moseley at a fabulous Indian restaurant--despite being a Friday night, we walked into it off the High Street without a reservation.
